¡Mi dormitorio shabby publicado! - My Shabby Bedroom published!

¡Grandes notícias! La revista de tirage nacional Miniaturas ha publicado otra de mis escenas. En este caso mi dormitorio Shabby, el que presente a concurso en la Feria de Barcelona, en el número de este mes, el de Enero 2011.

Seguro que os acordais que hice 3 entradas aquí en el blog con todos los detalles y muchas muchas más fotos, post 1, post 2, post 3.

Great news!! The Spanish miniatures magazine "Miniaturas" has published another of my scenes. In this case my shabby bedroom in the January 2011 issue :). The bedroom is the one that I created for the contest of the Barcelona miniatura Fair.

If you remember all the details and more more pictures were in the three entries that I posted last September: post 1 , post 2, post 3.

I want to thank to Madelva, its editor and also to all the Miniaturas team :)

As you know on January 6th in Spain we Celebrate the Three Wise Men with gifts...so this is a very good gift!!

El concurso de dormitorios 3 - The bedroom contest 3

Hoy os enseñaré el piso de arriba, el ático. Me costó bastante hacer las escaleras y encajar el armario debajo y el piso superior pero al final todo acabó quedando bien.

El ático también tiene parquet en el suelo y estuco en las paredes pero llama la atención la vidrieda emplomada que hay en el fondo y que matiza la luz al pasar. También las vigas del techo le dan carácter a la estancia.

Today I will show you the bedroom's attic. It was difficult for me to make the stairs and that they fit with the wardrobe below and with the attic floor but finally everything was in its place and now looks well.

The attic also has parquet and stucco in the walls but the stained glass window has a basic paper in the room because tints the natural light. Also the girders of the ceiling give character to the room.

El gato que juega en el suelo con la madeja fue un regalo de Hanna (¿a que es simpático?)

The cat that is playing on the floor was a gift from Hanna (it is lovel,y isn't it?)

Me llevó días pensar en como hacer la barandilla, en el diseño básicamente, al final unos palillos, scobidou y unas hojitas....

It took me days to think about the handrail design, finally with toothpick, scobidou and tiny leaves...

El escritorio era un tocador que cambié un poco y que pinté de blanco. La agenda (que se abre) con el papel de carta, los sobres y el alucinante mini bolígrafo son de Sandra (brujita) que me lo envió cuando gané un sorteo suyo. Las postales románticas en el cajón y en la cajita son de Montserrat Folch.

Si os fijáis hay un pequeño abanico de papel hecho con papiroflexia, me lo hizo mi hijo Arnau de 7 años para ayudarme a decorar el dormitorio. :)

The office was a dressing-table that I changed a bit and I painted white too. The agenda (that opens) with the paper, the envelopes and the amazing mini pen belong to Sandra (brujita) that sent them to me when I won her giveaway. The romantic postcards in the drawer and in the box belong to Montserrat Folch. If you notice there is a small paper fan made with papiroflexia technique, it was done by my son 7-year-old Arnau to help me to decorate the bedroom. :)

La estanteria está hecha con dos pastilleros baratos y estucada. Hay muchos libros con imprimible y revistas sacadas de internet, o de Lize o de Mª Carmen, hay libros de viajes, de Navidad, de decoración...cosas que me gustan. creo que ese pinocho fue la primera cosa realmente pequeña que hice con Fimo, no estoy muy contenta con él pero ahí me empezó a picar el gusanillo a esto de moldear. Mercedes hizo el bouquet de rosas y Mª carmen la letra "&" super complicadísima de hacer cortar con madera de balsa. El caballito de la izquierda es de mi querida Susan (Sans) y su pareja está en mi escena de la Librería de las brujas. El otro caballito (balancín) es un abalorio pintado. La matrioska de Eva, el bote de cristal está lleno de mini conchas recogidas en verano y la jarrita de Mercedes también.

The bookcase was done with two cheap pillboxes and it is painted with estucco. There are many books made printables and magazines extracted from Internet, or from Lize or from M ª Carmen, there are books about travelling, about Christmas, about decoration ... things that I like. I believe that this Pinocchio was the first really small thing that I did with Fimo (polymer clay), I am not very satisfied with him but there it started puncturing the small worm to this of molding. Mercedes made the bouquet of roses and M ª Carmen the letter "&" very complicated to cut with balsa wood. The left pony belongs to my dear Susan (Sans) and his pair is in my scene The witches'Bookcase. The other toy horse is a painted bead. The matrioska was a gift from Eva, the crystal jar is full of mini shells collected in summer and the jug from Mercedes also.

Para que nadie se caiga, un par de plantitas, la primera es mía.

I do not want that nobody falls down so a couple of plants, the first one is mine.

Concurso de dormitorios 2 - Bedroom's contest 2

Primero de todo me gustaría agradecer todos los comentarios que habéis dejado en el anterior post y dar las gracias a todas aquellas personas que me han comentado que votaron la escena. Muchas muchas gracias por tantas muestras de cariño y apoyo. Y también a la organización Assarmicat que nos trató estupendamente y fueron muy amables.

En diferentes blog como el de Eva, Gemma o Zöe por ejemplo, ya se han publicado muchas fotos de la Feria de Barcelona 2010 que podeis pasaros a ver. Yo de momento os dejo las fotos de las escenas que se presentaron a concurso. Las fotos de la exhibición de casas de muñecas y escenas las pondré otro día (yo participaba con 3 escenas).

El dormitorio ganador fue un justo vencedor, esa es la verda. La autora creo que se llama Soledad (si alguien puede decirme su nombre completo o sublog se lo agradecería). La escena tiene un realismo fantástico y me comentaron que la cama era una reproducción real de una cama antigua de sus padres. Al natural era preciosa.

Podría llamar a esta escena "Un sueño" por que realmente me hubiese gustado vivir en un sitio así (aunque con un armario más grande para mi ropa :) ), llevo 18 años voviendo en áticos dúplex y quería una habitación bonita, que hablase un poco de mí y donde tuviesen cabida muchos de los regalos recibidos de las mini amigas y que he ido acumulado a lo largo de los casi dos años que tiene el blog.

First of all I would to thank all the wonderful comments that you left me in the last post and say thank you also to all the people that voted my bedroom in the Barcelona Fair. Thanks, thank you so much for all the sweets comments and for all the support. And also to the organizers, Assarmicat, that were so kind and lovely with all of us.

In blogland have appeared a lot of pictures of the Barcelona Fair, like in Eva's blog, Gemma's blog or Zöe's Blog for instance, you can go and have a better look.

Now I only upload the contest with all participants. The pictures of the dollhouse-roomboxes exhibition will be posted another day (I participated with 3 of my scenes).

The winner was a fair winner, that's the truth. I think that the author is Soledad (if someone knows the complete name or her blog please let me know). The scene is absolutely realistic and someone told me that the bed is a reproduction of a real old bed of her parents. Really beautiful.

I could call the bedroom "A dream" because I had loved to have onebedroom like this (but with a bigger wardrobe for my clothes...LOL) and during the last 18 years I have been living in Attics with stairs. It is full of gifts from mini friends that I have store for 2 years (the life' blog) and because this bedroom talks about me.

Muy bien, empieza el tour por el exterior. La escena era una caja de madera rectangular con tapa así que corté un lado para poder subir el techo que hice con la madera de la tapa. Mi padre Francesc me ayudó a poder encajar el techo abuhardillado y luego el hueco triangular que quedaba en la pared del fondo me hizo un auténtico vitral de cristal emplomado. Tal vez es un detalle no muy común pero me gusta la fuente de luz natural que entra y que da un color peculiar a al escena. Y es un efecto decorativo más.

Yo hice el agujero en un lateral para el ventanal y mi padre me puso un cristal auténtico transparente en lugar de usar plástico.

Ok let's start the tour by the outdoor part of the bedroom. The scene was a wooden rectangular box with lid. I cut one side to be able to raise the ceiling. The ceiling was done with the lid wood. My father Francesc helped me to be able to fit the attic ceiling. He made also and authentic stained glass to cover the triangular hollow that was left in the wall. Maybe it is a not very common detail but I like the natural light source that enters and that gives a peculiar color to the scene. And it is one more decorative effect. I did the hole in a lateral wall for the bay window and my father put an authentic transparent crystal instead to use plastic.

Todo está hecho a mano. Las piedras de las fachadas laterales están cortada una a una del cartón que protege las tóners de las impresoras. Usé este porque es un cartón con mucho relieve que simula muy bien el efecto piedra. Luego las pinté con pátinas al óleo de diferentes colores y por último un poco de masilla para rellenar huecos.

Las tejas del techo también están cortadas una a una y son de madera de balsa. También están pintadas con pátinas al óleo.

Everything is handmade. The stones are made one by mode from the cardboard of the printers toner. I used this because is has a lot of relief ans simulates quite well the stone effect. After that they were painted with oil patinas and use filler to cover the separation.

The roof tiles are also cut one by one from balsa wood and also paited with oil patinas.

En un lado está una planta trepadora (otra vez hecha a mano hojita por hojita...)

In one side there is a creeper (again handmade leave by leave...)

Y en el otro lado está la ventana con su alfeizar llenos de flores (¡compradas porque ya no tenía más tiempo!). El precioso barreño con el pájaro se lo compré a la belenista artesana Alícia Torres en el mercado navideño. De él saqué la inspiración para hacer el mío con el pececito naranja dentro que todavía está a la venta en Etsy (clicad aquí).

On the other side you can see the window with its windowsill full of bought flowers (I had no more time!!). The beautiful rusty tub with the bird was bought the Nativity scenes artisan Alicia Torres in a Christmas market. From this tub I had the idea to make mine with a gold fish inside that still is on sale in Etsy.(click here)

Empezamos por el ventanal y el banco que ocupa toda la longitud de la escena. Siempre he querido tener uno así que fue una decisión muy rápida de tomar y lo hice. Quería que fuese un sitio acogedor con mucha luz y cómodo, de ahí tantos cojines que me regaló Angeles. La cestita llegó desde Reino Unido de la mano de Nikki.

Las cortinas las ha cosido mi madre y estan sostenidas por anillas :)

We can start for the bay window and the long window seats. I always have wanted to have one so it was a easy decision to do one. I wanted that it was a cosy place, with a lot of light and comfortable. That is the reason of so many blue pillows (from Angeles). The tiny basket came from UK (thanks Nikki).

The courting were done by my mother :)

Mi madre hizo la cocha y la almuhada (gracias mamá otra vez) pero el quilt de Patchwork, los dos mini cojines y la maravillosa muñeca son obra de Mercedes. La maleta vieja de piel (fantástica) fué comprada a Olga Asensio y el precioso bolso rojo es de la encantadora Angeles. Podría estarme horas ahí dentro leyendo un libro junto a la ventana o en la cama mientras el sol entra.

My mother did the bed clothes (thatks mum again) but the Patchwork quilt, the two tiny pillows and the wonderful doll are from Mercedes. The old leather suitcase (it is great) was bougt to Olga Asensio and the pretty red bag is a gift from lovely Angeles. I could stay inside this bedroom hours reading a good book in the window seat or in the bedroom while the sun comes in.

Aquí está la gente a la que quiero, mi marido Àlex y mi hijo Arnau. He añadido una foto de este verano cuando encontramos una estrella de mar roja por mi pasión por la naturaleza. El colgador es mío pero la idea es de Mª Carmen (clicad aquí para el tutorial) ).

Y el sombrero a juego con el bolso de mi ibizenca Angeles. El busto de la mujer es de Maria Schumann y es que como buena catalana adoro el Modernismo (Gaudí, Puig i Cadafach...)

Here you have my dearest, my husband Álex and my son Arnau. I have added a picture from this summer when we found a pretty red sea star because symbolizes my passion for nature. The hanger is mine but the idea is from Mª Carmen (click here for the tutorial). The red hat (that matchs with the bag) is from Angeles and the woman is from Maria Schumann because as a good catalan I love the Modernism style (Gaudí, Puig i Cadafalch...)

La mesita es una monería y me la regaló Mª Carmen. El libro de Botánica es de Montserrat Folch.

The table and the shabby clock were a gift from Mª Carmen. The Botanical book was bought to Montserrat Folch.

La mesa, protagonista de esta parte de la escena es otra vez de Mercedes. La bandeja (clicad aquí) la pinté y decoré. Encima está un tentempié que me regaló Sonia. Una butaca perfecta para tomar algo, hacer ganchillo o leer Miniaturas (la portada es del número donde salió publicada mi escena Mediterránea, Julio 2010) o revistas de decoración como El Mueble que son un de mis favoritas.

The coffee table, is again from lovely Mercedes. The tray was gift (click here) but I paint it. The tray contains a coffee and a healthy sandwich (from Sonia) perfect to relax reading a Miniatures magazine The cover is from the issue of last July where my Mediterranean scene was featured), decoration magazines (like the Spanish one EL Mueble, that it is one of my favourites) o sewing.

Dentro del armario està un jersey de Eva (clicad aquí) y un bolso de viaje que hice hace un tiempo (clicad aquí). Se puede ver el interior del armario perfectamente a través del espejo.

Inside the wardrobe there is a pullover from Eva (click here) and an overnight pursue that I did some time ago (click here). You can see inside the wardrobe through the mirror.

Los botes de perfumería son de Katy, de Irene, de Mª Carmen (y la bolsa también) y de Cheryl. Y el paquetito fue comprado a Montserrat Folch. La cómoda era muy oscura así que la pinté de blanco.

The tiny bottles are from Katy, Irene, Mª Carmen (and the bag too) and Cheryl. The parcel was bought to Montserrat Folch. The drawer was in an ugly dark color so I painted in white.
